Zulu Land: Its Wild Sports and Savage Life
Walmsley, Hugh Mulleneux
Description:
This title is an abridged version of "The Ruined Cities of Zulu Land" of 1869. Original decorated blind stamped brown cloth boards with gilt title panels on the spine and the upper board. Yellow end papers. viii prelims, 374 text pages and 4 plates, including the frontis. CONDITION DETAILS: The appearance is of a very well preserved copy, but it has been repaired in a number of places. The hinges must have cracked internally, but have been repaired with glue, making the binding tight. The images give a clear picture of the location of the repairs. The bottom of the title page is pictured, showing that the publisher's details have been removed, the paper is thinned, perhaps caused by the removal of something like a label. Pen name "H. C. Grant".
