Censored plate removed before publication. This plate had 2 photos of the rebels. Original red cloth spine with gilt titling onthe spine and paper covered boards with an inset photo of Gen. Louis Botha. xii prelims, 68 text pages, a total of 86 images, including an in text diagram. Most of the black and white photographic images were taken by the author, who served in Botha's bodyguard. CONDITION DETAILS: The binding is worn and soiled and the right hand side of the picture of Botha has small pieces chipped off. Internally there is is some soiling, foxing and page 61 has a short edge crease and tiny tears.
