Book Description: 124pp. Cloth Hardcover with DW. Numerous pen illustrations throughout.

Book Condition: Near fine. Binding is fine. Pages are clean and bright, no dog-ears. There is however a neat pencil inscription to the fixed front end-paper that reads "Written by the headmaster of my school from 1944 to 1947 High School Newcastle" and signed (in the same neat hand writing) in pen overleaf on the free end-paper "Valerie Davis. Dec. 1947". The dust jacket is very good with minimal signs of wear & tear and is protected in a cellophane wrapper.

There were two first editions printed in 1947. The true first had no title on the spine whereas the subsequent version had the title and the author's name printed on the spine. This one has no title to the spine and is therefore the true first edition.

There are 12 headings/'chapters' consisting of mainly short stories and poems.
