Trees of South Africa (LIMITED EDITION, SIGNED)
Palmer, Eve and Norah Pitman
Description:
This was, in 1961, "the first book to be published on the indigenous trees of South Africa as a whole" and was then described as "a book for All South Africans - for the gardener because he will find useful and practical information; for the farmer because he will learn about fodder trees; for the Africana collector for the historical associations; for the conservationist; for the layman because he and his children should know their trees as part of their South African heritage." Eve Palmer and Norah Pitman spent 13 years writing this book "for people like ourselves who, although their knowledge of botany is elementary, are yet curious enough to wonder what it is they see when they travel through forest and veld".
