A scarce volume by the renowned author, subtitled "Being Notes of a Vacation Tour in the Autumn of 1876" with engravings and coloured map, 526pp.total and consisting of twelve chapters, e.g. The Volga and The Steppe of Southern Russia, The Caucasus, Through Armenia to Ararat, From Erivan to the Black Sea, etc... Book condition: good throughout with tight binding; frontispiece page is loose however, with water-soiled margins; owner inscription and stamp on f.f.e-p's, navy blue cloth good, corners bumped, and some fraying to spine ends and a large ink mark on rear cover; edges browned.
