Original red pictorial cloth boards with gilt titling on the spine and the upper board, decorations in black and gilt. Black end papers. xii prelims, 425 text pages, large fold out map, comprising of two separate maps of the Transvaal and is over 560mm long (ONLY A PORTION IS PICTURED HERE)followed by 24 pages of the publishers' catalogue. CONDITION DETAILS: The binding has been repaired: The hinges have been internally glued and the extremeties, such as the head and tail of the spine and the corners have been repaired with glue. The spine is discoloured. Internally the book is reasonably clean with a few pencil lines, marks and a few soil marks. The back end papers are split along the hinge.
