This book is being sold on behalf of the Friends of the Johannesburg Public Library. All three volumes are bound in the original gray-blue cloth boards with gilt titling on the spines. Volume has xvi prelims, 407 text pages, 7 full page colour plates, 349 black and white figures, the 23 page index, followed by a fold out map at the rear. Volume 2 continues the pagination to page 818 and the plates from 8 to 22 and the figures to 828, the 23 page index, followed by a double page coloured map. Volume 3 continues the pagination to 1184, the colour plates from 23 to 39 and the black and white figures to 1233 followed by the 23 page index. CONDITION DETAILS: The usual ex-library stamps, stickers, marks, etc. The bindings are a bit worn, but still strong and tight and internally reasonably clean.
