Original maroon cloth boards with gilt titling on the spine and a gilt decorative device on the upper board. Black end papers. xv prelims, 309 pages, 9 black and white plates, some fold out and 65 other black and white illustrations, folding coloured map at the rear followed by 32 numbered pages of the publisher's catalogue. CONDITION DETAILS: Aside from the usual library stamps, stickers, etc., a reasonable copy. The map at the rear has a closed tear at the top which is emphasised in our image.
