612 & 786 pages, Atlas of Plates, 15 pages of letterpress and 38 engraved plates - 10 folding, volumes 1 & 2 are in the original cloth of the Ray Society which has been covered the adhesive clear plastic, top edges gilt, some foxing on the preliminary pages but generally the contents are crisp. Volume 3, the Atlas, small folio (370 x 260 mm), is bound in half dark blue leather which has similarly been covered with clear plastic, top edge gilt, marbled endpaper and cloth hinges, the bottom third of the volume is affected by damp and this has stained the plates.

Ex the Borough of Bootle-cum-Linacre Free Public Library, with stamps on the title pages and elsewhere in the text and on all the plates. A fair copy only.
