Description:

Kruger National Park - A History

by Dr Salomon Joubert

2007 - 1st Edition. 3 Volumes.

Subscribers edition, of which only 350 sets were printed.

Overall condition - As new.

This is a the printers master set, hard-covered(Skivertex-bound)in original protective slip-case. This particular 3 vol set is unique in that it is the only subscribers edition in existence that has been fully gilt-edged. This was done alongside with the delux leather-bound collectors edition, prior to the bindery process. As such, it is a true one of a kind.

A note from the publisher;

"Seldom are we privy to the `behind closed doors` discussions, arguments, disagreements and rationale that lead to decisions and ultimately shape destiny. Immense archives have been kept, and generously made available by SANParks. These, combined with volumes of data provided by those involved with Kruger through the decades, have allowed Dr Joubert to accumulate a scientifically accurate and detailed history of the Park. These books cover developments from before Proclamation to 1994, which was the end of Dr Joubert`s era as Head of Kruger. This wealth of information has been set out in a highly functional, colour-coded structure which allows readers to `skip` around the books following threads and themes of particular interest to them. Readers will find themselves caught up in a web of fascinating stories and facts. As they come to understand the processes that led to its birth and shaped its development, they will, without a doubt, find themselves even more in awe of the Kruger National Park than ever before."
