Description:
302pp. Nicely produced book with 93 beautiful full page plates from paintings by John Fulleylove, nearly all in color with Tissue guards. Text has wide margins, and the book boasts an attractive gilt edge at the top of the text-block. The right and bottom sides of text-block are untrimmed.
Original attractive blue cloth binding with embossed gilt menorahs and bright text on cover & spine. Embossed Roman numeral gilt "MDCCCCII" dated on cover.
Condition: End-papers are browned with some foxing towards the outer margines throughout. Owners inscription on front end-paper. Corners are bumped. Top and bottom edges of spine are slightly frayed. Some scuffing/marking is visible in places on outer cover boards. Otherwise a perfectly good sound copy of this remarkably delightful book!
Detailed descriptive travel text. Plates show Jerusalem, Mount of Temptation, Jordan Valley, Bedouins, Syrian peasnats, Church of Holy Sepulchre, Mt. Olives, Nazareth, Joppa, many views & monuments inside Jerusalem, road to Bethany, Tiberias, Plains of Jericho, much much more incl. natives of Palestine.
Chapters on Palestine in general, desert, mountains, villages, the waters of Israel, Roman Israel, Moslem Jerusalem, Israelite Jerusalem, Christian Jerusalem, Crusader Jerusalem, Syria, much more.

Approximate foreign postage = $25.00 SURFACE MAIL or $45 AIR MAIL per 1kg parcel plus half again per additional kg to be included in the parcel.
