Description:
Price was of the 1st. Durham Royal Engineers (Volunteers). The book printed for Private Circulation only, contain the text of his letters to his father. 150pp. including The War Diary omitted from many copies; 6 plates after photographs. A list of the Regimental No., Names and Rank of Price's detachment. Bound in dark brown leather, gilt, all edges gilt, patterned end papers. Extremities of spine a little rubbed. On title page "With Compliments JP" - this was the Colonel of the Reoyal Engineers (Volunteers) at Newcastle who wrote the Prefatory Note. "If only there was another Roberts out here all would be settled. There is a great deal to be said about the disgraceful bungling of some officers in high positions out here which never reaches the papers" A very scarce work.
