A very good, clean copy, 192pp. of this record of the discovery of diamonds, from the initial strike in 1866 through to the 1920's, with biographical chapters on J.B.Robinson, C.J.Rhodes and Alfred Beit, and including many photographs and illustrations including Premier Mine (Pretoria), Kimberley, Bultfontein, Pniel, Colesberg Kopje Mine, Wesselton, Jagersfontein, Koffyfontein, etc... and notes on early extraction methods. Book condition: red cloth boards very good, with black spine and cover titles, end-papers heavily browned but text and internals very good and clean with no foxing or inscriptions - an excellent copy.
