The Bulawayo Sketch, Vol 4 #101
Davis A ed
Description:
One of the short-lived Mashonaland pioneer newspapers, which started in 1894. It was basically handwritten and cyclostyled, and contains two full-page illustrations from sketches by J P Macdougall. Not only is the ongoing 'war' and the lack of progress discussed, but there is also a review of a concert, a gazette of the BSA Company and a number of advertisements. 16 pp with two pp illustrations. Some wear along forlds, but otherwise well-preserved for its age; small stain in margin, not affecting text. An uncommon piece of early Rhodesiana ephemera.
