Subtitle continues: A Picture Record of the Movements of the British, Colonial, and Boer Forces engaged in the Conflict. Oblong 4to (253 x 315 mm); original green cloth blocked in gilt and white; pp. (vi) + 260 + xxi + (iii); photographs throughout. Cloth slightly rubbed, and worn at extremities; binding slack and hinges starting; earlier owner's name in pencil on front free endpaper; trace of foxing; some light fingering; very occasional short edge tear, without loss. (Hackett, pp. 28, 143; SABIB I, p. 72) "An extended edition (c. 1902) contains over five hundred photographs with the Summary of the War brought down to the termination of hostilities. In addition this volume includes certain war statistics and a list of V.C. recipients." - Hackett: South African War Books - An Illustrated Bibliography, p. 28.
