Inscribed by the author and presented to Mrs D.D.Thompson of the Garret Biblical Institute Library. Frontispiece of the author, 26 photo-illustrations, map of Kilimanjaro to the sea and hundreds of textual illustrations.
Very Good condition. Bears the Garret Biblical Institute Library stamps and markings. Spine only slightly faded, some wear to spine ends. Text is clean throughout.
"A well-illustrated account of the author's travels from Aden to Mombasa, Zanzibar, where she formed a caravan, Wa-Nyika, Wa-Teita to Tveta, around Lake Chala with chapters on vulcans of Chaga, , Kimangelia, Masai, Hamidi, her meetings with Sultan Mireali and Mandara of Moschi, etc. The map is of Kilimanjaro to the sea. The illustrations include handicrafts, weapons, people, customs, jewelry. The last section is a listing of the medicines taken with on the expedition."
