8 volumes, 8vo (255 x 185 mm), over 1600 pages, colour frontispiece in each volume, 64 colour plates, 61 sepia portraits, numerous black & white illustrations, 77 maps - 5 folding, original pictorial khaki coloured cloth - soiled and with chipping at the top and bottom of some spines, corners worn, small piece of cloth missing from the upper cover of volume 2 possibly due to insect damage, some soiling of the page edges, contents generally good.
This set is complete with the two supplementary volumes: VII, The Guerrilla War, from February 1901 to the conclusion of hostilities. The development of peace negotiations from February 23, 1901 to May 31, 1902, and VIII, South Africa and Its Future.
