This self-published and slight book (144 pp including plates numbered with the text) is listed because of its rarity and the brief life-stories it relates of many of the displaced people from 15 farms and a similar number of other settlements near Bethulie who were displaced by the construction of South Africa's largest water storage project, the Gariep Dam, then the Hendrik Verwoerd Dam.
