II. viii, 896 pages, 40 chromolithographic plates each with a key on the accompanying tissue guard (the guards of 2 plates in volume II are adhering to the heavily inked plates), profusely illustrated with full page and other wood engravings, contemporary half brown leather with brown pebble-grained cloth sides, sprinkled edges, light foxing on the backs of the plates which does not show in the printed area.
