Painting in South Africa
Esme Berman
Description:
A magnificent narrative of the development of South African art from the 19th century onwards; each artistic term or label, when introduced, is defined and compared with precision and exactness; a monumental reference work. Cream cloth over boards; colour illustrated dust jacket; 395 pp; 229 bw figures: 99 colour plates. Book and jacket have some minor shelf wear and jacket has some slight discoloration on the outer edges, not pure white anymore. A very slight shift in the binding due to the weight of the book. Overall though a very good, clean and attractive copy.
