8vo., 69pp., with frontispiece and thirteen other full page photographic plates; red cloth gilt (spine defective, mostly missing, covers a tad faded unevenly otherwise internally very good). Extremely scarce.
Presentation Copy with the following inscription, in ink, on the free endpaper : “Dr Patrick Leighton with kind regards from Comyns Berkeley, Dec 1910”. Further inscribed on the verso of the same leaf is an “Errata” in the author’s hand. This consists of two corrections to the text on pages 36 and 39.
“Berkeley, a noted physician and author of several medical treatises, had this work privately printed, undoubtedly in a small number. He recounts his trip to British East Africa, primarily Uganda, after an assortment of plains game, including waterbuck ans zebra”. Czech p.16
