The set is in very good condition, with some spine wear and slight splitting to the ends a few volumes. Internally very good, on good quality linen-type paper, with previous owner's pencil notes, marginalia and bookplates. Plutarch's biographies of famous Greek and Roman statesmen, emperors and philosophers, such as Marcus Aurelius, Fabius Maximus, Demetrius, Marcus Antoninus, Tullus Hostilius, Alexander, Gelon, Jason, Cyrus, Demosthenes, Aristomene, the society of Athens, etc...and is a truly remarkable library of information on these great historical figures, in very good condition for its age.
