Frontispiece and seven plates. pp i-xiii; 1-344 Dust cover Very Good condition with some slight scuffing on top edge. Green embossed synthetic leather-covered boards. Gilt design on front cover and gilt title on spine. Some foxing on top edge of book - general condition Very Good. Andersson was a Swede. He wrote about the areas he travelled through and included interesting natural history observations and details of the indigenous peoples with whom he came in contact. He spent time with Thomas Baines working on a book of natural history. In Ovamboland he became involved with a battle between the Hereros and the Damaras, sustaining serious bullet wounds, but still continued his journey. This book includes and account of Andersson's last days by Axel Ericson.
