Description:
Original copy of the newspaper published in the beleaguered city of Pretoria, in which the main item of news is a resume of the hostilities to date, including an engagement at Zwarte Kops. The plant, type, printing presses etc, of the Transvaal Argus' had been brought into camp when the evacuation of the town of Pretoria was decided upon, and the paper was printed on this. After the siege was lifted, some 200 copies were specially bound as souvenirs - but there are few single sheets extant. Some sporadic foxing and tears into margins, otherwise good condition
