The first 12 issues of this journal, bound into the original decorative cloth binding. Pp. (i),iv,252, colour plates, illustrations, plan. The articles include four by Thomas Baines, two on plants found in the deserts of Namibia and two on his travels in Zimbabwe. Four of the wonderful chromo-lithographs are by Baines. The balance of articles include insect studies, art, decorations, etc.. A second volume, for the year 1867 was also issued. Spine worn at head & foot, covers a bit marked & rubbed, some foxing. Bound without the "Hawking" frontispiece as usual.
