"An outline of the geography and history of Natal prepared by the Council of Education, and intended to help the young people of the Colony to acquire a knowledge of their homeland and to encourage them to take an intelligent interest in all that makes for its welfare and progress" - (preface).
Drawn mainly from John Bird's exhaustive "Annals of Natal", and revised by the Nestor of South African history, Sir Theophilus Shepstone; 265pp. plus 9p. index.
Condition: contents good but boards worn and grubby, spine faded; missing f.f.e.p., but this copy does contain the large fold-out colour map of Natal (housed in a sleeve attached to the rear paste-down). The map is good, however it is tearing through at the folds.
