De Luxe Limited Edition of the 1962 facsimile of the Grahamstown, Godlonton and White 1851 edition.

African Collectanea Volume II, Limited to 750 copies, but only 50 in the De Luxe binding. This book is No. 15.

The history of the 8th frontier war and events leading up to this conflict. The writers had personal experience of conditions in the Eastern Cape at this time and were motivated by a desire to record daily happenings on the frontier. A considerable number of original 1820 Settlers died in the series of frontier wars.

10 new prelim pages. Pages 1-160.

No DJ. 1/2 leather dark brown boards, gilt design on front, gilt titles on spine on square green leather label. Raised bands on spine. Binding Fine condition.

A few small dents in the leather spine. Corners have small bump marks. Browning of the paper throughout the book. Overall in Very Good condition.
