Published for the Royal Society of Edinburgh. Original white cloth boards with gilt titling and the Napier crest on the upper board. Wine-red end papers. Inserted after the preface, by a person interested in the descendants of Lord Napier are some pictures and pages from the Border Magazine. xii prelims, 442 pages, colour frontis and a further 15 plates. CONDITION DETAILS: A few signs of use, the free front end paper has two pen names and a patch where a book plate was removed. The are very few spots/foxing and a small soil mark or two. Although the binding is a bit soiled, and the gilt title a bit faded, the overall condition is very reasonable.
