A collection of ten articles by leading experts on the life and work of Livingstone published to mark the Centenary of his death. The essays cover Livingstone's roles as a doctor, missionary,geographer and explorer. Of interest to the bibliophile is Frank Bradlow's contribution 'The Variants of the 1857 edition of Livingstone's Missionary Travels and Researches in South Africa'.
