Henkel, a German who emigrated to South Africa in 1951, was an orthopedic surgeon and artist, and this biography by his wife Margot spans his early years as part of the fanatical Hitler Youth, to his years in South Africa up to his sudden death in 1977, and includes a comprehensive list of his portraits, drawings and paintings in chronological order.
