A South African Bibliography, volume 1, page 472, ‘Lady Dixie accompanied the British troops and travelled extensively throughout South Africa visiting Cape Town, Natal and Transvaal during the South African War (1881). She met Cetyswayo twice, of which she relates interesting accounts.’
