In Darkest Africa or the Quest Rescue and Retreat of Emin Governor of Equatoria
Stanley, Henry M.
Description:
Re-cased, retaining most of the original decorated cloth binding with gilt titling on the spine and the black titling and pictorial design on the red cloth upper board. New end papers that are an off-white colour. xii prelims, 635 pages, 150 illustrations, of which 38 are full page, and 4 are maps. Two of these maps are large folding, one is a smaller folded map, and a single page map. CONDITION DETAILS: The first large folding map has some tape repairs. There was some water staining at the bottom margin of the pages and hopefully this is visible in the images provided. Judging from the original cloth, the binding must have been in a sorry state before being repaired.
