Demy 8vo; original green cloth, lettered in gilt on spine, and with gilt regimental device to upper cover; pp. x + 241, incl. index; colour and monochrome plates; two folding maps at rear. Spine darkened; extremities very slightly rubbed; front free endpaper cut out; earlier owner's ink stamp to flyleaf; occasional light foxing. Good condition. The early history of the Regiment up to 1900, is treated in the first four chapters. The Anglo-Boer War is covered in chapter V, and the First World War , including Gallipoli and Palestine, is thoroughly studied in the next five chapters, with a concluding chapter entitled 'After the War'.
