Loosely inserted is a one page typed letter from the South African High Commission , Trafalgar Square, addressed to A.C. Painter of Bournemouth, dated 2nd October 1922.accompanying the book and giving general advice. “The minimum capital required for even a modest start is about £ 2,000. …On Government training farms, as explained in the leaflet sent you, the charge is £ 50 a year for board, residence and tuition.
Together with two rare pieces of ephemera.
A) Kanthack (F.E.) Lecture on Land Settlement Conditions in the Union of South Africa and the Settler from Overseas. Deliveredd at the Central Hall, Westminster, on Thursday, 16th October, 1919. HMSO (1919).
