Die Nasate van die Rynse Sendelinge in Suid-Afrika (1991)

Zollner, Linda

Description:

The copy would be mint were it not for the smallest bumping of the top of the dustjacket and a signature and year on the front paste-down.

Printed laminated dustjacket; maroon Skivertex boards, gilt to spine; plain endpapers; vi + 303 pp including many monochrome photographs + 2 colour plates; no printer's name is given. The book appears never to have been read.

The most famous of the Rhenish Mission stations was, and still is, Genadendal (see image), where Bibles were printed and which had, and still has, craftworkers in velskoen footwear and other trades. Accessible at the end of a long and steep dead-end gravel road, Genadendal remains a specialised destination, especially for occasional German tour-groups.
