Splendidly illustrated folio volume published to celebrate the quincentenary of the first printing of the bible in 1456. 100 fine engraved plates by artists such as Hoet, Houbaken and Picart - taken from the 1728 edition of 'Taferelen der Voornaamste Geschiedenissen van het Oude en Nieuwe Testament' with accompanying texts in Afrikaans. Covers show a little wear at corners, and there is a paint splash on the back cover, but otherwise this book is in very good condition.
