Description:
4to; original blue cloth, lettered in gilt on spine, and ornately blocked in gilt, silver gilt, black, red, green and blue on upper cover; decorative endpapers; pp. (viii) + 420 (unusual pagination: the columns, rather than the pages, are numbered, two columns per page); photographs and monochrome artwork in text; vivid full-colour plates; colour folding map of the Boer republics. Light wear to extremities; regular, light browning. German text. A very attractive and impressively illustrated book, reflecting the continental sympathy with the cause of the Boer republics. (Spohr & Poller 1492)
