Description:
412pp. Chapters dealing with early family history, Hilton College, Transport by wagon in the late 1800's, the BOER WAR, NATAL CARBINEERS, ZULU REBELLION, and the campaign in German South West Africa in WW1. Very scarce South African 20th century military biography, and scarcer still with the dust-jacket: very few copies in circulation. Book condition: green leatherette boards in good condition, end-papers and edges yellowed with age, f.f.e.p. missing, text clean and unmarked throughout. Dust-jacket: rubbed, worn, and creased; white tape has been stuck along inside edges to prevent deterioration, horizontal tears along centre of spine, heavy creasing along top rear panel.
