(xx), 1187 (with various numbering errors), (i blank), 87 Index, (i blank) pages, engraved title page, more than 600 wood engraved illustrations of plants in the text, recent half vellum with parchment sides, pages 226 - 320 stained and light water staining in the gutter of many pages, a tear in leaf 485/6 repaired with cellotape which has now dried and been removed but has left an unsightly stain, light browning but generally the contents are good.
