Both volumes are bound in quarter leather with paper covered boards and gilt titling on the spines. Volume 1: Half title, engraved title page, 5 pages of introduction to the 4th edition by the publisher, Didot. 234 engravings, each with a page of text, followed by an 18 page index to the plates. Volume 2: Half title, engraved title, plate numbers 235 to 531, each with a page of text, followed by a 19 page index to the plates. CONDITION DETAILS: An ex-library set with all the usual library plates, stamps, etc.
