Edited by Isobel Robertson. Small folio (293 x 208 mm); cloth backed boards; pp. (v) + 325 + (xxii); photographs, maps and facscimiles. Boards a little rubbed; some fox spots. Very good condition. Alexander (Alick) Fraser Russell served as a medical officer with the British forces in the field during the Anglo-Boer War. With this volume, his grand niece has preserved a record of his experiences in helping to save lives and ameliorate suffering under primitive conditions.
