II. viii, 1007 pages, large folding map of folding map of North Britain During British and Roman Times (torn at the hinge), 5 plates and plans, 2 folding tables, full calf with black title labels - worn along the edges, front board of volume II detached, marbled edges, signature 4F in volume I heavily foxed, page 705 soiled, some foxing on the preliminary pages but overall the contents are bright.
Although four volumes are mentioned on the title page only three volumes were published before the author's death in 1825 - the two volumes present here with the third issued in 1824.
