Description:

Solid ivory tusk tip (varnished) mounted on a brass base, engraved "1900-1902, Ceylon" measuring 95mm in height and 33mm at the inner base. Made by an unknown Boer prisoner of war. The brass base appears to have been fashioned from an artillery shell (now ovoid in shape).
