Full title: "Africana. Catalogue of a sale of a magnificent collection of Africana books, pictures, maps and autograph letters and manuscripts. Including many extreme rarities as : Harris' "Voyages," Ogilby's "Travels," Churchill's "Voyages," Lichtenstein, Barrow, Thomas Baines, folio "Victoria Falls," Lithos and paintings by Bowler, Schroeder and Daniell, with the finest lot of autographed books and letters and association pieces ever offered for auction in Johannesburg. To be sold on Wednesday, February 20th, 1935 at 2.15 p.m., at "The Old Mart," 112, Commissioner Street, Johannesburg. Richard R. Currie, Ltd., Auctioneers specialising in the sale of Africana." A wonderful catalogue of 24 cyclostyled pages in original printer wrappers. A total of 232 lots of the finest Africana, almost all in fine condition. Among the outstanding books are a two copies of Baines' "Victoria Falls" one with tinted plates, the other with hand-colouring added, "Incwadi Yokukuleka" by Bishop H. Callaway, "Reminiscences of Kimberley" one of a special edition of eight copies only, signed by Cohen, Harris' "Portraits of the game," Captain Ludlow's "Zululand and Cetewayo" inscribed by the author to Sir Bartle Frere, with an a.l.s.. Autograph letters included Baines, Jameson, Kruger, Rhodes, Selous. Original sketches & watercolours by Wenning, Bowler, Shrubsole, etc.. Prices realised have been neatly entered in pencil. Some slight tears to edges, old staple marks on covers, re-stapled down left edge
