A very scarce "PROOF ONLY" paperback copy of the renowned Admiral's account of Germany's Second World War Naval preparations and excursions. 23 chapters and 6 appendices plus index, running to 490pp. with in-depth details of Germany's naval armaments, as well as their assessment of the strength of British and American forces, Convoy battles, U-Boat warfare, and personal notes on his appointment as military commander on Hitler's death, notes on the "Fuhrerprinzip", etc... Originally titled "Zehn Jahre und Zwanzig Tage" (Ten Years and Twenty Days). This copy is in worn condition - original wrappers (lacking rear wrapper), edges browned and spotted, front cover bearing remains of sticker, hand-written price at top right , and "PROOF ONLY" printed on lower right corner, where there is some evidence of worming, as well as bottom pages of rear cover (not affecting text); internally very good with some occasional spots, marks and pencil notes. No other copies available on the internet at time of writing. Extremely scarce.
