Original green cloth-boards, design and lettering blind embossed to the front, blind rules to back, gilt lettering to spine. Plain endpapers, xiv + 500 pp of text and index, with figures in the text + iv pp of publisher's annoucements + frontispiece and 25 other inserted monochrome illustrations.

Although intact, the covers are extensively rubbed, bumped and frayed; the endpapers are sunned and stained; the binding is loose and the prelims are detached though present; all pages and plates present and nothing else detached.

This was a sought-after edition, and this copy may be worth repairing or restoring.
