A very good set of Churchill's epic history of Britain, in good plus dust-jackets. Large 8vo. Volume One - "The Birth of Britain" (1956, First Printing): 416 pp. Volume Two - "The New World" (1956, First Printing): 344 pp. Volume Three - "The Age of Revolution" (1957, First Printing): 332 pp. Volume Four - "The Great Democracies" (1958, First Printing):Bound in the publisher's burgundy cloth, with gilt lettering to the spines. The jackets are moderately foxed and gently rubbed, all with small brown sellotape marks on inside surfaces from previous plastic cover being taped on, except vol.3 which has dry gummed area top and bottom edges inside jacket; jacket spines slightly faded, and top edges slightly chipped and worn. Original burgundy cloth on all vols. in very good condition, though some abrasion to lower portions. Page edges spotted quite heavily, top edges faded, interiors all good and unmarked throughout. Vols.2 & 4 price-clipped.
