Description:

A handwritten letter from his farm "Waterval" in Mpumalanga, dated 19 Januarie 1942, addressed to "Liewe Vriendin" saying that Steyn has told him that she is back from "Rooiwal" and exchanging pleasantries with a regular correspondent (unnamed) and friend. Written in Afrikaans in ink across two sides of a folded card. Hertzog was Prime Minister of the Union of South Africa from 1935 - 1939. He died in November 1942
