A BREATH FROM THE VELDT (Facsimile reprint)
Millais (John G.)
Description:
Facsimile reproduction of the first edition of 1895, with additional frontispiece and Publishers' introduction.
236 pages, frontispiece, title page vignette and 12 plates, numerous text illustrations, pictorial cream buckram, top edge gilt, bookplate on front paste-down endpaper, a very good copy in the original publisher's box.
Number 467 of an edition limited to 750 copies.
Perhaps the best of the facsimile reprints of Southern African hunting and colour plate books. Produced by Books of Rhodesia and printed in Bulawayo, the publisher took great care to simulate as closely as possible the heavy coated paper on the which the original text and the stiff card of which the electro-etchings were printed.
