With a sketch of some of the public affairs connected with the Colony of the Cape of Good Hope. xvi+612pp. 8vo. Original blind-stamped cloth, some wear to edges and faded on backstrip. Numerous pages unopened. Bookplate on front pastedown, hinges a little loose. Small water stain on leading edge of frontis. Some scattered foxing and a few marks on foredge, otherwise a very good copy. First edition. Montagu accompanied Governor Arthur to Van Diemen's Land in 1823 and remained there until he fell out with Franklin in 1842 after which he entered the administration of the Colony of The Cape of Good Hope. Includes numerous plates.
